Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

With offices in 11 countries, the JAC Group respects and values diversity in all its forms, including nationality, race, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, and belief. We are committed to providing fair opportunities and creating an environment that accommodates individual circumstances.

"Diversity, Equity & Inclusion" is a fundamental value for us, and "Fairness" is a core part of our Philosophy & Policy. The Group is dedicated to creating a workplace where professionals can thrive in their own unique ways within a more open and inclusive environment.

By introducing a diverse workforce to our clients, we actively contribute to building a society where a wide range of professionals can succeed and flourish.

Fostering an Inclusive Environment Where Everyone Can Thrive

As of 2024, the Group proudly employs individuals from over 30 nationalities and has upheld Freedom & Discipline and Fairness as the core of its Philosophy & Policy since its inception. We are actively reinforcing our commitment to promoting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees can truly be themselves.

To promote the increase of female managers, we have established a Women's Empowerment Committee and are intensifying our efforts to support and develop female employees for leadership positions. While we already have a 100% return-to-work rate after childbirth, thanks to generous support and improvements in our work environment, we are also working towards standardising the practice of employees' partners taking leaves, including paternity leave.

For 17 years, our Working Parents Committee, a childcare support initiative, has been cultivating a culture where employees with children, regardless of gender, can connect over lunch and engage in discussions on childcare concerns and work-life balance.

We have also established an LGBTQ+ Committee to foster a better understanding of LGBTQ+ employees and create an inclusive environment. This is achieved through training sessions for all employees, participation in events like Tokyo Rainbow Pride, and distributing Ally stickers to those who wish to show their support. In addition to raising awareness internally, we have implemented a system where consultants in our business can identify and introduce LGBTQ+ friendly companies.

Our approach to human rights is guided by our Human Rights Policy, which is designed to protect the dignity of all individuals, not just our employees, and to prevent any infringement on human rights. As a company that places people at the centre of our operations, our goal is to foster a society where individuals with diverse values can thrive through our business activities.

Childcare support system

Since 2007, we have implemented our Employee Childcare Support Project to address Japan's declining birthrate and help employees balance work and childcare while continuing their careers. We provide a childcare allowance of up to 100,000 yen/month for children up to 9 months old and 30,000 yen/month for children from the first to the third year of primary school. This support enables employees to return to work early without taking a career break.

Initiatives for the Employment of People with Disabilities

To support individuals with various disabilities in working according to their unique capabilities, JAC considers necessary adjustments to working times and job content to create an inclusive environment. As of December 2023, our employment rate for people with disabilities is 105% of the legally mandated rate. In addition to back office roles, employees with disabilities are involved in agricultural work at our three Wakuhapi Farms in Ichihara City, Kashiwa City, and Yokohama City. The harvest from these farms is sold at on-the-spot sales in our offices, creating a virtuous cycle of shared joy and active participation.

Our Approach to Respect for Human Rights

The JAC Group respects the dignity of all individuals, including employees, stakeholders, and everyone involved in our business activities. In April 2024, we enacted the JAC Group Human Rights Policy to prevent any violations of human rights. We are committed to respecting the human rights of all individuals connected to our operations and ensuring a safe and equitable working environment. We aim to prevent any negative impacts on human rights and foster a workplace where everyone can work safely and with peace of mind.
